Alaya — the hands

Alaya — the hands. A small local program on the PC. It hosts the local AI models, remembers a project's log as context, and runs jobs: build a film, generate sound effects, clean a voice take, check the backup, merge the logs. A job is started by dropping a small text file into a queue folder on Drive, from the phone, from Claude, or from Blender. One job runs at a time; each writes its result back to Drive before it is called done. There is a pause switch, and a strip on the screen that says what is running.

WHAT IT IS. A thin program on your own machine — PHP plus local models through Ollama — that reads the decision log as its memory and runs jobs. No GUI by ruling: chat, plain-text files and a command line. Delete it tomorrow and every decision, asset and tool still works without it.

WHAT IT DOES. Executes: a job is a text file naming an id from an allowlist; nothing from a request ever reaches a command line. Reports: a morning shift report — DONE, WAITING FOR YOU, BROKEN, and "Nothing else needs you". Routes: local models for bounded work a wrong answer can't hurt; frontier models for design, canon and critique. Orients: every context load starts with the newest decisions and the hard rules.

THE SHIFT REPORT. Now running at the top, refreshed every five seconds. Machine: what is up, the last backup and its check, whether the drive is mounted. Audience: blog reads per post, readers' languages, where they came from, AI crawlers; per film views, how far people watched, where they leave, and the data not streamed. Counts only — no names, no IP addresses. Still no buttons.

OVERNIGHT. A 03:00 task drains the queue and writes the morning report; a 07:10 task queues the backup, its check and the audience numbers.

WHAT IT IS NOT. Not a plugin framework, not a dashboard, not an agent that decides, not a service the pipeline depends on.

FOR A STUDIO. Not batch admin — studios have farms — but the local broker that lets AI work on NDA material without it leaving the building, beside a decision record the tracking tool cannot hold.

Release: later. First it has to run a year for me.
